Wellington Launches High School Summer Service Program

To be eligible, students must be entering their junior or senior year of high school during the 2011-2012 school year and need have at least a 3.0 grade point average. Students should be able to commit to volunteering four hours a day for two days each week from June 6th to August 4th. Exceptions will be made to accommodate scheduled vacations or other plans. Wellington will make an effort to place volunteers in based on their specific interests and the needs of each Department.

The HSS Program application can be found under the Community Tab at www.wellingtonfl.gov by clicking on Volunteers. Paper versions are available at City Hall, Wellington’s Safe Neighborhoods Office, Village Park and the Wellington Community Center. In addition to the application, students are required to mail two letters of reference to the following address:
