A Matter of Balance for Wellington Seniors

 

A Matter of Balance will be held on eight consecutive Tuesdays from May 3rd to June 21st from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at the Wellington Community Center located at 12150 Forest Hill Boulevard. Participants must preregister by Tuesday, April 19th at the Wellington Community Center. This program includes the following schedule:

 

May 3rd:           Introduction: Concern vs. Fear
May 10th:         Exploring Thoughts and Concerns about Falling
May 17th:         Exercise and Fall Prevention
May 24th:         Assertiveness and Fall Prevention
May 31st:         Managing Concerns about Falling
June 7:            Recognizing Fall-ty Behavior
June 14th:        Recognizing Fall Hazards in the Home and Community
June 21st:        Practicing No Fall-ty Habits & Fall Prevention: Putting It All Together
 

Dr. Ethelene Jones, a Wellness Coordinator for the Area Agency on Aging, will teach this course to residents ages 55 and older. A Matter of Balance received the 2006 Health Care Aging Award by the American Society on Aging and the 2006 Innovations and Achievement Award by the National Association of Agencies on Aging.
