he newly renovated Wellington Aquatics Complex consists of a state of the art Olympic size pool which was recently redesigned to meet competitive standards. The renovations included deepening areas of the pool, raising and widening the pool deck, and the installation of stainless steel gutters to absorb waves.
In order to meet competitive standards, electronic touch pads connecting to a scoreboard were also installed. The project also included replacing the old aquatic building with a larger 10,000 square foot structure that includes concession stands, showers, restrooms, a weight room, and classrooms for first aid, CPR and lifeguard courses. The renovated Wellington Aquatics Complex opened on May 28, 2010.
