Trash Collection, Bulk Trash and Recycling

Phone: (561) 791-4000

All items for collection must be placed in the City wheeled garbage containers. The container must be placed curbside before 7:00am on your collection day, but not earlier than 6:00pm the day before collection. Do not place containers in front of a mailbox. Empty containers must be removed from curbside by 11:00pm on collection day as required by Wellington code. Trash is collected throughout the year with the exception of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

'Bulk Waste' - any items other than yard waste which cannot be containerized, bagged or bundled such as refrigerators, ranges, toilets, washers, dryers, water heaters, sinks, appliances, household furniture and other large items.

'Excess Trash' - additional small non-food containerized waste generated from small projects or celebrations which create excess waste resulting in unusually large amounts of trash. If residents place excess trash in bags, boxes or trash cans it will be collected once a week on the same day as vegetation is collected along with your bulk trash.

'Yellow Bins' - accept only newspapers without plastic bags, brown grocery bags, catalogs, magazines, telephone books and flattened and cut (not folded) cardboard boxes not to exceed 3'x3'. Wet paper is not recyclable; place blue bin on top of yellow bin when placed at street. Beverage cartons, tissue boxes, unwanted mails and school/office papers.

'Blue Bins' - accept only aluminum cans, plastic bottles (except Styrofoam), glass bottles and jars, milk and juice cartons only (steel cans to blue bins).
