Beautiful Wellington Grants
In an effort to design a program to enhance the aesthetics of the community and to fund such projects, Beautiful Wellington was approved. Beautiful Wellington is a matching grant program available to Wellington residents for the purpose of neighborhood enhancement projects prior to construction. Depending on the size of the proposed enhancement, the following grant amounts are available (Wellington matches up to 50% of the cost of the project):

Bike paths must be used when provided. For use after dark, bicycles must have a white headlight and a red rear reflector. Bike paths on public streets are maintained by the Public Works Division.

A motor vehicle may not be parked in the street, on a sidewalk, or in any portion of a yard or landscaped area clearly visible from the street or adjoining properties except on the driveway or an Architectural Review Board approved alternative surface.

Most structures and improvements to structures require building permits. Improvements such as decks, fences, flag poles, basketball hoops, gate posts, post lighting, sheds, compost and manure bins, paver brick or concrete patios require a permit.

Driveways made of paver brick, concrete or asphalt also require a permit, as well as extensions or additions to existing decks, patios and driveways. New electrical, mechanical, and plumbing, A/C change-outs, water heater change-outs, and any system repair work that goes into a wall, floor or ceiling or affects structural elements require permits.

Bulk Trash

All items for collection must be placed in the Village wheeled garbage containers. The container must be placed curbside before 7:00am on your collection day, but not earlier than 6:00pm the day before collection. Do not place containers in front of a mailbox. Empty containers must be removed from curbside by 11:00pm on collection day as required by Wellington code. Trash is collected throughout the year with the exception of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

'Bulk Waste' - any items other than yard waste which cannot be containerized, bagged or bundled such as refrigerators, ranges, toilets, washers, dryers, water heaters, sinks, appliances, household furniture and other large items.

'Excess Trash' - additional small non-food containerized waste generated from small projects or celebrations which create excess waste resulting in unusually large amounts of trash. If residents place excess trash in bags, boxes or trash cans it will be collected once a week on the same day as vegetation is collected along with your bulk trash.

'Yellow Bins' - accept only newspapers without plastic bags, brown grocery bags, catalogs, magazines, telephone books and flattened and cut (not folded) cardboard boxes not to exceed 3'x3'. Wet paper is not recyclable; place blue bin on top of yellow bin when placed at street. Beverage cartons, tissue boxes, unwanted mails and school/office papers.

'Blue Bins' - accept only aluminum cans, plastic bottles (except Styrofoam), glass bottles and jars, milk and juice cartons only (steel cans to blue bins).
