Wellington 2060

Welcome to Wellington 2060!

Wellington 2060 is a community vision. The primary goal is to ensure that Wellington remains a great hometown. Wellington was developed as a premier residential community that has grown to include a regional hospital, regional mall, and a world-renowned equestrian community. We have great parks, schools, and neighborhoods. Wellington is truly a community that has something for everyone. Simply stated, Wellington 2060 is important to our community’s sustainable and economically viable future.

Wellington 2060 focuses on ways to maintain it as a great hometown by identifying initiatives and programs that enhance our existing assets. It balances the need for protecting our residential lifestyle with development of a strong economic base.  Wellington 2060 aims to maintain the quality of our neighborhoods, create jobs, expand educational opportunities, and support residential and commercial reinvestment.

The name “Wellington 2060” is used for branding as well as to communicate ideas and concepts. While the name suggests a future-oriented vision, it hardly means that 2060 projects won’t materialize for 50 years. Although many of the initiatives may take several years to implement; our ability to achieve and sustain the vision begins today.

The Wellington 2060 core principles are: education, job creation, sustainability, and responsive government. The current initiatives include:

·         Medical Arts District
·         Equestrian Community
·         Town Center
·         Residential Reinvestment
·         Commercial Reinvestment

Check in periodically on our progress. If you have any ideas, comments, or suggestions, please share. This is a community vision and it needs your support and contributions.
